Clinical Trial Network Request for Proposals (RFP)
The
first opportunity for funding is extended to researchers through the

Center of Excellence (OA

COE
)
.
The center
o
versees
our
Clinical Trial Network
, bringing
together researchers interested in finding new treatments and cures for
osteoarthritis
,
which is
the most prevalent form of
the disease
.
T
he OA
v
COE
is
seeking
proposals for rese
arch projects aimed at post-traumatic OA (PTOA),
the type of OA that
is caused by
bone or joint injuries.
Competitive proposals from independent researchers and research institutions will be considered that aim to better understand how to prevent and treat PTOA . The focus of this RFP is on clinical research that ultimately, whether directly or indirectly, impacts patient care and identifies ways to meaningfully improve health-related outcomes for patients with PT OA. The deadline for applications is November 1, 201 9.
Cultivating A New Generation of Rheumatologists

The
second funding opportunity is extended to clinical rheumatology training institutions
. Fellowship directors from qualified institutions
—
with programs
tha
t
are
establish
ing
new post-residency fellowship positions in clinical rheumatology
adult and/or pediatri
c
programs
— are
eligible to apply
. This
award
will provide a grant offering up to three years of initial support, for a maximum of $150,000. Grants will be awarded to programs that meet the established criteria.
