2020 Ambassador Assignments

January & February 2020

Ambassador Assignments

Explore the New Arthritis Foundation Website | The new Arthritis.org is modern and user-friendly. In this assignment, you’ll be locating at least three crucial advocacy pages so that using the website going forward is a breeze. Whether you’re looking for a resource, communicating with your online network, or contacting legislators, you’ll be a pro in no time. One of your first assignments for 2020 is to familiarize yourself with the new Arthritis.org!

Get in Touch with your Health Legislative Assistant | Health Legislative Assistants are senior members of the policy team within a Congressional office. They conduct research and handle a specific issue area, like health, to inform their member’s policies and legislative portfolio. Meeting with an HLA is a great opportunity to share your story with another subject matter expert on health. Getting your HLA’s contact information is important, so you can send them a personal note when a new action item arises.

April & May 2020

Top 10 Advocacy Projects Showcase | Ten of your peers created poster presentations about a key advocacy accomplishment for the Advocacy Leadership Retreat. While we couldn’t meet in person, these Ambassadors are still excited to present their accomplishments and key takeaways with you virtually! Visit the Live Yes! Online Community on April 27 & 28th to join the conversation. Ambassadors should post a minimum of three questions to receive program credit for this assignment. If you aren’t able to join us on April 27-28, you can still participate! Navigate to the Online Community and post your questions there. Virtual Walk to Cure Arthritis Advocacy Booth | While we can’t walk with each other in person this year, we are excited to walk side-by-side virtually on May 16 th . In lieu of an in-person advocacy booth, we are calling on our Ambassadors to participate in and share the Advocacy Booth action items. Your friends and family can easily sign up to be an advocate, take action, or share their story. We Live Yes! Story Bank | The Arthritis Foundation is inspired by patients across the arthritis community who are living YES in these uncertain times. Share your story with us to help shape our resources, materials, and advocacy efforts. Your story could even be featured in upcoming blogs and videos. You can also share your questions and ideas for new resources that you would like to see on our channels in the coming weeks. Together, #weliveyes! Share your story, and then share the link with your friends and family so they can share their experiences.
