DEI Science Summit
Clinical rheumatologist specialists with expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI); medical education; and curriculum development participated in a two-day summit Oct. 21 and 22 focusing on DEI in rheumatology care.
Health equity researchers funded by the Arthritis Foundation presented their research, and keynote speaker Will Ross, MD, MPH, of Washington University, spoke on “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Rheumatology Recruiting.” A panel of experts discussed some of the challenges and solutions to increasing and retaining under-represented minority professionals in rheumatology training programs.
