Matt Iseman Makes the Cut and Continues On to the Final Four!
The first challenge this week was dedicated to the Los Angeles Clippers, with owner Steve Ballmer serving as advisor to Arnold Schwarzenegger this week. The teams were tasked with creating a halftime show that would get the crowd charged up, as well as creating a t-shirt dedicated to Clippers Nation. Team Prima, led by Lisa Leslie for this challenge, came up with a halftime show that featured an anthem that they hoped would be enough to energize the crowd around Clippers Nation. Team Arete, led by Ricky Williams for this challenge, took a cue from Steve Ballmer’s playbook and reimagined his famous “I Love This Company” video from his time as CEO of Microsoft. Changing the word “company” to “team,” Team Arete energized the crowd by leading the arena in enthusiastic chant: “We. Love. This. Team!”
Both teams created a high-energy halftime show, but the teams were ultimately judged on three key parts of their performance: the halftime show, the t-shirt design and their overall creativity in the challenge. Team Prima was named the winner of the t-shirt design, but Team Arete won the halftime show challenge. For overall creativity, Steve chose Team Prima the winners - and they took home the victory for this challenge.
Despite the loss, Matt was praised by Arnold Schwarzenegger as giving it his all. Ultimately, it was Ricky who went home as the project manager with two losses under his belt in that role.
For the second challenge this week, the teams were charged with creating a pitch for a fitness equipment product of their choice and marketing and selling the product on Venice's Muscle Beach for QVC. With fitness enthusiast Brooke Burke-Charvet as project manager for Team Arete and Carson Kressley as project manager as Team Prima, the teams were to be judged by how much money they brought in from their sales pitches.
Team Prima sold over $8,000 worth of their product, but the members of Team Arete (Matt's team!) were crowned winners after selling over $17,000 of theirs, despite being at a higher price point and delays in potential shipping.
With only three members left on their team, Team Prima headed to the boardroom to face elimination. Arnold took no prisoners, sending both Carson and Lisa Leslie home.
